An 8-year-old Palmdale boy was killed Wednesday when his bicycle was struck by a pickup truck, the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department said.
Travion Stocker was pedaling east on Avenue R-2 into the intersection of 20th Street East about 5 p.m. when he was struck by the pickup, Deputy Donna Levi said.
The boy was pronounced dead at Palmdale Medical Center at 6 p.m.
The truck driver, James Taibi, 30, of Canyon Country was not charged.
“The child just rode right into the path of the truck,” Levi said.
