OJAI : Chamber’s Harvest Moon Ball Canceled

Ojai’s fifth annual Harvest Moon Ball, scheduled Saturday at the Ojai Valley Inn and Country Club, has been canceled.
The event was planned to raise funds for the Ojai Valley Chamber of Commerce.
Fran Merkley, who heads the committee organizing the $75 ball, said the event was canceled because attendance was expected to be low.
“It was just the wrong date,” Merkley said. Many past supporters are on vacation and would be unable to attend, she said. Merkley said she hopes that another fund-raiser will be held toward the end of the year.
