Eastern Equipment Sold at Auction: Bidders began picking the bones of the defunct Eastern Airlines at a series of auctions being held to raise money to settle the airline’s accounts. The auctions are being held this month in Atlanta, Miami and San Francisco. The one in Atlanta, to last three days, offered mainly ground equipment such as baggage cars and kitchen machines. The Miami-based carrier went out of business in January and is in federal bankruptcy court. Separately, Delta’s pilots agreed to extend their contract 16 months to Jan. 1, 1995, from Sept. 1, 1993. The agreement includes a one-time 2% pay boost.
