Two Oxnard men were arrested on suspicion of attempted murder Thursday after an argument over a loan erupted in gunfire, authorities said.
According to police, 38-year-old William S. Jacobs of Oxnard was slightly injured when one of the suspects fired a shotgun at him during an argument about property held as collateral for a loan.
The incident occurred at 10:30 a.m. in the 500 block of Ivywood Drive in Oxnard. Acting on a description of the suspects’ car, police arrested Harry E. Miller IV and Anthony R. Vera, both 23, in the Silver Strand area. Vera was arrested while trying to jump over a fence on Santa Monica Drive, and Miller was located with the aid of a police dog as he hid in the attic of a nearby house.
Jacobs identified Miller as the person who fired the shot at him, police said.
Jacobs was treated and released by St. John’s Regional Medical Center.
