Light showers dropped .09 of an inch of rain on downtown Los Angeles early Saturday, but skies were expected to be mostly clear today with highs near 85 at the Civic Center and about 90 in inland areas, the National Weather Service said.
The rain also dropped .27 of an inch at Mt. Wilson and .04 of an inch at Camp Angeles in the San Bernardino Mountains. Brief showers were reported in parts of Alhambra, Burbank, Hollywood and Pasadena, meteorologists said.
Desert and mountain regions may receive additional rain--and possibly thundershowers--today as the storm front moves eastward, said meteorologist Steve Burback of Wichita-based WeatherData Inc.
Los Angeles’ rainfall since July 1 has been just .22 of an inch, slightly below the normal .39 of an inch, according to the Weather Service.
