MISSION VIEJO — A new supervisor has been named to run the Mission Viejo Community and Senior Center.
Nancy Herrman, who worked 11 years for a South County elderly services provider, took over as recreation supervisor on Sept. 9.
In addition to running the city’s senior center, Herrman’s duties will include developing senior citizen and human services programs for the Parks and Recreation Department, which oversees the community center.
Herrman is currently working on a citywide survey of citizens’ needs in the areas of day care, anti-drug abuse programs and other social services.
Herrman formerly worked for San Clemente Seniors Inc., where she managed the senior centers for Laguna Hills and San Clemente. Herrman also ran the organization’s senior meals program and other outreach efforts.
