Schuyler M. Moore, a corporate entertainment and tax attorney, has joined the Los Angeles office of New York-based Stroock & Stroock & Lavan as a partner. Moore formerly was a partner at Denton Hall Burgin & Warrens, Los Angeles.
Moore, whose clients have included Walt Disney Co. and Carolco Pictures, is the latest high-profile attorney to join Stroock & Stroock’s West Coast practice.
Earlier last month, Arnold M. Quittner and Herbert Katz joined Stroock & Stroock as partners. Quittner and Katz were senior partners at Gendel, Raskoff, Shapiro & Quittner, the Century City law firm that will dissolve at the end of this month. And in June, Marvin Heileson moved to Stroock & Stroock from Sidley & Austin.
Before a series of unsuccessful merger talks--and the decision to dissolve--led to the departure of many of its attorneys, Gendel Raskoff had been one of the country’s premier bankruptcy firms and the third largest. The firm already was well known for its insolvency and reorganization practice when Quittner joined in 1955.
Stroock & Stroock, formed in 1986, has 340 attorneys; 47 are in the Los Angeles office.
