AIDS in Hollywood: The Brad Davis Fallout

Fox’s timely article seems to have hit the mark. The Actors’ Fund of America, committed to caring for people with AIDS in the entertainment industry, was contacted by two more clients with AIDS the day after the article appeared.
Currently about 100 male clients from the industry are receiving help from us on an ongoing basis, and each week we receive calls from three or four more from the profession.
Thanks to Fox’s sensitive reporting, the word is getting out to an area of the entertainment population hitherto uncomfortable in seeking help from us or similar organizations because of the stigma attached to AIDS.
