In Century League girls’ tennis:
Foothill 14, Villa Park 4--Amanda Parson imrpoved her No. 1 singles record to 39-0 with a 6-0, 6-1, 6-0 sweep for Foothill (9-4, 4-0). Parson has lost only 28 games in 39 sets.
In Freeway League girls’ tennis:
La Habra 10, Fullerton 8--Caren Lund and the team of Kelly Coats and Staci Murgia swept their sets for La Habra (4-4, 1-1), which won its first league match in two years.
In Garden Grove League girls’ tennis:
Bolsa Grande 11, La Quinta 7--In a matchup between the league’s undefeated teams, Linh Quach swept at No. 1 singles, 6-0, 6-0, 6-0, for Bolsa Grande (4-0 in league). La Quinta is 4-1.
In South Coast League girls’ tennis:
Irvine 15, Mission Viejo 3--Irvine sophomore Jeanne Lu, who filled in at No. 1 singles for injured Milvia Schinaia, helped the Vaqueros to their seventh consecutive victory. Lu swept, 6-1, 6-1, 6-1, for Irvine (7-0, 2-0). Mission Viejo is 1-6, 0-2.
Sunset League girls’ tennis:
Fountain Valley 9, Edison 9 (Fountain Valley wins on games, 81-66)--Michelle Berkowitz swept her singles sets at love and helped host Fountain Valley (7-4, 5-1) win all nine singles sets. Edison (5-8, 4-2) swept in doubles.
Marina 15, Westminster 3--The doubles team of Toowee Cao and Wendy Gratteau swept their sets to remain undefeated in league for Marina (8-3, 6-0). Cao and Gratteau are 38-2 overall.
In Angelus League girls’ volleyball:
Mater Dei 3, Rosary 0--Amy Moeller had five kills to help Mater Dei (9-3, 1-1), Orange County’s top-ranked team, to a 15-3, 15-3, 15-4 victory at Rosary (4-4, 0-2).
In Empire League girls’ volleyball:
Los Alamitos 3, Esperanza 1--Kelly Kuelber had 23 kills, Luann Petix 17 kills and Kirstin Laird 49 assists for Los Alamitos (5-1, 2-0), a 20-18, 15-9, 8-15, 15-4 winner.
In Sea View League girls’ volleyball:
Tustin 3, University 2--Christine Garner had 29 kills for the Tillers (4-2, 1-1), who rallied from a two-game deficit to win, 6-15, 7-15, 17-15, 15-6, 15-9.
In Sunset League girls’ volleyball:
Fountain Valley 3, Edison 2--Natasha Zila had 43 assists, 12 digs and seven blocks for Edison (6-5, 4-1). Edison’s Robin Smith had 18 kills. Fountain Valley is 5-0 in league.
In South Coast League girls’ cross-country:
El Toro 27, Irvine 28--Freshman Bree Frigo broke the O’Neill Park course record by 21 seconds, running three miles in 19 minutes 43 seconds, to lead El Toro (3-0). Irvine is 2-1.
Freeway League water polo:
La Habra 16, Troy 2--Scott Seminoff scored 11 goals to increase his season total to 95. La Habra is 14-2, 1-0.
In South Coast League water polo:
Capistrano Valley 6, Dana Hills 5--Jeremy Braxton-Brown scored the winning goal with 2:14 left in the game for Capistrano Valley (10-3, 1-0). Brett Bowan scored three goals for Dana Hills (11-2, 0-1).
San Clemente 9, El Toro 6--Goalkeeper Pat Ortiz had 10 saves for No. 2-ranked San Clemente (13-1, 1-0). Sean Lane scored three goals and Jeremy Laster and Bryce Matthews each scored twice for the host Tritons.
