Birmingham 34, Grant 0--The Braves (4-0, 2-0) controlled the line of scrimmage on both sides of the ball to post an easy victory at Birmingham.
The Birmingham defense had six sacks for 55 yards in losses and limited the Lancer ground game to 50 yards. Linebacker Ray Banner returned a blocked Grant punt 15 yards for a touchdown and defensive back Scott Valdez scored on a 51-yard interception return.
Quarterback Vince Lampkin rolled up 120 yards in total offense, including touchdown runs of one and 32 yards and a 48-yard touchdown pass to wide receiver Patrick Abdelkerim.
