San Gorgonio 31, Palmdale 12--San Gorgonio running back Troy Newton scored the first of his two touchdowns on the opening drive of the game as the host Spartans (4-1) kept Palmdale (0-5) in search of its first win.

Palmdale quarterback Terrence Zenno completed six of 18 passes for 190 yards and a touchdown. But it was not enough to counter the Spartans’ running game.
