Primetime Warfare: NBC took delight over the last few days in pointing out to viewers via on-air programming alerts that its new Danielle Steel TV movie “Palomino” at 9 p.m. Monday would be airing opposite a “Murphy Brown” rerun on CBS. An NBC spokesman said the potshot was “not groundbreaking, just a little friendly rivalry.” The spot apparently worked. The first half hour of “Palomino” finished with a 26 share in the A. C. Nielsen ratings while the “Murphy Brown” repeat had a 24. In the past, NBC has aired similar viewer alerts against ABC’s “Love Boat” and “Winds of War.”
