Texas Instruments Announces Layoffs: Texas Instruments Inc. said it will lay off 240 employees in its information technology operations and corporate office in Dallas. The reductions follow the voluntary departure of 2,900 employees who accepted an incentive package to leave the semiconductor manufacturer last month. Texas Instruments said in July it would trim its work force by at least 3,200 people through layoffs and early retirement.
