The Economy and Tax Proposals

So George Bush’s money men have blackmailed him into paying attention to the economy at last (“Backers Stun Bush Into Focus on Economy,” Oct. 20). Pitiful it took a threat of campaign fund withdrawal to make this so-called leader do what he was elected to do and silence his “don’t worry be happy” pablum that even his supporters have stopped believing.
Did Bush think he was elected to pose for three years of photo ops and then spew a year of reelection rhetoric pointing fingers of blame for his own domestic paralysis? Oh for the days when Presidents would willingly guide the the nation through and out of troubled times and take responsibility for their own actions!
