Los Angeles police are investigating the stabbing death of a North Hollywood man whose body was found by a passerby in a neighborhood park.
Alexander Mendez, 23, was pronounced dead about 7:25 p.m. Monday at North Hollywood Medical Center, said Lt. Ron LaRue.
The passerby found Mendez in North Hollywood Park at the intersection of Magnolia Boulevard and Tujunga Avenue, and reported his discovery to a nearby fire station, LaRue said.
Although Mendez had relatives in the area, police believe that he often slept in the park, LaRue said. There was no apparent motive for the slaying, no witnesses, and no arrests had been made, he said.
