Man, 31, Killed in Hit-and-Run Accident

A 31-year-old Northridge man was killed early Sunday when he was struck by a hit-and-run driver while crossing a street in Granada Hills, police said.
Kenneth Thompson Preston was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident, which occurred about 12:20 a.m., said Los Angeles Police Sgt. Joe Cross of the Valley Traffic Division.
Preston was walking across Chatsworth Street near Louise Avenue when a small car traveling west on Chatsworth hit him, witnesses told police. The car drove away, and Cross said police had no further information.
