Court May Free Some Funds of Wymer Clients: Some clients of Newport Beach money manager Steven D. Wymer could have access as early as Friday to funds frozen last week by a federal court in connection with an investigation into Wymer’s handling of the accounts. Robert Carlson, the receiver appointed to examine Wymer’s troubled financial empire, said he expects to recommend that U.S. District Judge Richard A. Gadbois Jr. lift the freeze on “a very substantial amount” of the $1.2 billion in frozen assets at a hearing scheduled for Friday in Los Angeles.
