Irvine residents Melvin and Alfreda Posin have given $295,000 to the Irvine Barclay Theatre endowment fund. The gift is the first major donation to the fund. Theater officials say there is no specific fund-raising goal for the endowment, but Irvine Mayor Sally Anne Sheridan, a theater trustee, has said they hope to raise $6 million in the next five years, toward an eventual sum of $15 million.
