High Flying and Sudsy

1992 is shaping up nicely for British actress Deborah Moore. She’s recently landed a regular role on NBC’s popular daytime soap “Days of Our Lives” as a mysterious woman named Danielle, and Friday she makes her American film debut in the action-adventure “Into the Sun,” playing an Air Force public affairs officer opposite Anthony Michael Hall and Michael Pare.

Moore, 28, eschewed an early ambition to be a doctor in favor of acting. In doing so, she followed in some famous footsteps: Her father is actor Roger Moore, a.k.a. James Bond and “The Saint.”

“When I went to drama school,” she says, “I wondered if they were taking me because I was Roger Moore’s daughter. But you get to the point where you see that you’re not going to get work if you’re not good--it doesn’t matter who you’re related to.”

Upon moving to Los Angeles about a year ago, she found her place in “Into the Sun,” then did a small role as Charlie Chaplin’s second wife Lita Grey in the upcoming “Charlie” before signing on with “Days of Our Lives.”

Throughout, her father has been, she says, “very supportive and sweet. He’s never really given me any specific advice--I learned from watching him, how disciplined he was, how he treated everyone the same no matter if they were crew or actors. He taught me to be on time, know your lines and be truthful.”
