Bush Checks Out a Market Marvel

ORLANDO, Fla. — President Bush visited a display at a grocers gathering Tuesday and tried his hand at an electronic scanning cash register that uses technology common in many grocery stores. He ran a quart of milk, a light bulb and bag of candy across the scanner as its laser read the bar codes and registered the prices.
What seemed to be a look of wonder crossed his face. “This is for checking out?” he asked.
