Crenshaw to Challenge Westchester in 4-A Final

After a two-year absence, Crenshaw High will return to the City 4-A Division boys’ basketball final Friday night when the Cougars meet defending champion Westchester in the last of four finals at the Sports Arena at 8:30.
In the semifinals, Crenshaw (19-4)--which has won a record 11 City titles and four State championships--defeated Carson, 94-80, and Westchester (26-2) defeated Manual Arts, 79-60, in a rematch of last season’s final.
In the 3-A final, defending champion Fremont (29-3) will make its fourth consecutive appearance when it meets South Gate (20-7) at 6:30 p.m.
In the girls’ 4-A final, Washington (27-2) will go for its fourth consecutive title when it plays Wilmington Banning (18-5) at 4:30 p.m. Washington has not lost to a City opponent in 64 games.
Defending champion Roosevelt (18-6) will meet Granada Hills (12-6) for the 3-A girls’ title at 2:30 p.m.
