Doubletree Renovating: The Doubletree Hotel in Orange has been taking advantage of the slow days of the recession to completely renovate.
The hotel has completed a $6-million phase that meant rejuvenating its 20 meeting rooms and the 454 guest rooms. Now it has embarked on the final, $2-million phase of the project, fixing up the lounges, hallways and Dover’s Restaurant.
Through the renovation, the hotel has stayed open at full capacity.
“We feel the upscale appearance and the overall refurbishment will give us a competitive edge to expand our client base and offers a broader appeal to the sophisticated business professional,” said general manager Michelle Manire.
The nicer accommodations will also allow the hotel to raise rates by about 10%.
