IS IT RELEVANT? Become the top collegiate pick in today’s NFL football draft and you become rich. Become the last pick and you win a free trip to Newport Beach. Former pro football player Paul Salata and wife Beverly came up with “Mr. Irrelevant” in 1976 to generate recognition for the last pick. The dubious honoree, should he choose to accept, will star in a weeklong series of charity fund-raisers here in June and get to go to Disneyland.
