Needs the Medicine Man: Sean Connery delayed his appearance at an upcoming tribute because of a respiratory infection. Connery was to receive the American Cinematheque Award at the Moving Picture Ball on May 8 in Century City, but the group’s chairman, director Sydney Pollack, said the event has been rescheduled for June when Connery will be in Los Angeles making a new movie. The actor, who lives in Spain, was not hospitalized. Past honorees include Steven Spielberg, Robin Williams and Ron Howard.
