A 17-year-old boy was fatally shot while sitting on a Pacoima bus bench with his girlfriend in a gang-related attack Friday afternoon, Los Angeles police said.
The name of the victim was not made public after the 2 p.m. shooting on Laurel Canyon Boulevard at Terra Bella Street.
Detective Al Ferrand said the youth was believed to have been a Pacoima gang member and was apparently shot by rivals who drove into the intersection, stopped briefly and opened fire on him before speeding away. At least three young men were in the car from which the shots were fired, police said. The victim’s girlfriend was not injured.
