SANTA CLARITA : Planners Honor Preservation Law
- Share via
A Santa Clarita hillside and ridgeline preservation ordinance that was opposed by developers has won an award for outstanding work by a trade association of planners.
The hillside ordinance, which establishes strict development guidelines, was chosen by the Los Angeles chapter of the American Planning Assn. over four other entries, including a zoning handbook published by the city of Los Angeles and Glendale’s affordable housing plan.
Santa Clarita also received an award for its program “Share the Vision,” a strategic planning session in which about 150 local residents helped set goals for the community.
