The committee studying the feasibility of cityhood for Venice will seek public comment on the idea during two upcoming events.
Residents with questions or opinions about the proposal, including possible city boundaries, can speak with members of the Venice Cityhood Organizing Committee at the group’s booth at the Venice Summer Arts and Crafts Festival on Abbot Kinney Boulevard on Saturday and Sunday.
The committee will hold a public meeting at 6:30 p.m. Aug. 19 at the Westminster Senior Citizens Center, 1234 Pacific Ave. Malibu Councilwoman Carolyn Van Horn, an organizer of the successful drive for Malibu cityhood, will be the featured speaker. Residents of Venice and neighboring communities are invited to attend.
