Mikael Pernfors of the Tampa Bay Action was honored as the most valuable player and rookie of the year in the World TeamTennis League. Pernfors, a native of Sweden living in Athens, Ga., won 58.4% of his matches, second to Jimmy Connors’ 59.7% record with the L.A. Strings.
