SIMI VALLEY : Man Shot, Critically Wounded in Fight

A 24-year-old Simi Valley man was critically wounded when he was shot in the upper abdomen during a fight in the parking lot of a local restaurant early Sunday, authorities said.
Felipe Romero, who was wounded by a single gunshot, underwent emergency surgery at Simi Valley Hospital, where he remained in critical condition Sunday evening, Nursing Supervisor Priscilla Lofton said.
After receiving a call about the fight, Simi Valley police found the victim in a parking lot just east of La Fuente Restaurant in the 1400 block of Los Angeles Avenue, according to a police statement.
Police Sgt. Arch Morgan said Sunday that police do not have any suspects in the assault.
