Courier and Agassi Are Beaten

Jim Courier and Andre Agassi were ousted from the $1.4-million ATP Championship in Mason, Ohio, Thursday.
David Wheaton defeated Courier, the top-seeded and No. 1-ranked tennis player in the world, 7-5, 7-6 (7-0). Jaime Yzaga of Peru beat Agassi, the Wimbledon champion, 6-3, 4-6, 7-5.
Stefan Edberg, Michael Chang and Ivan Lendl won their matches.
