Man Killed When Train Strikes Car

A man was killed Friday when his car was struck by a train in Palmdale, the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department said.
The unidentified man was in his car on the railroad tracks at 40th Street East and Avenue S-10 at the time of the 5:49 p.m. accident, Deputy Gil Arce said. Another vehicle had apparently struck the victim’s car and pushed it on to the tracks, Arce said.
No other details were known.
