Crone New Dean of Faculty at Scripps

Donald Crone, associate professor of political science in international relations at Scripps College, has been named dean of the faculty, succeeding Steven S. Koblik, who resigned to become president of Reed College in Oregon.
Crone will be the chief academic officer and second-ranking administrative officer of the college. He will be responsible for developing and carrying out academic policies and programs, and will be the college president’s chief adviser in matters of faculty appointments, promotions and tenure.
Crone, who joined the faculty in 1989, graduated from UCLA, earned his master’s degree from Portland State University and his Ph.D. from the University of British Columbia.
