WORLD IN BRIEF : UNITED NATIONS : Iraq Reportedly OKs Relief Aid for Kurds

Baghdad, in what appears to be a political shift, has agreed in principle to a substantial international relief program to get food, fuel and medicine to Kurds in northern Iraq before winter sets in, U.N. officials confirmed. At the same time, Iraqi Foreign Minister Mohammed Said Sahaf explored the possibility of new talks on limited oil sales to pay for Baghdad’s own relief supplies.
