Carpinteria 19, Santa Paula 8--Quarterback Son Ngo rushed for 101 yards and two touchdowns in 12 carries, and teammate Ryan Kuttler scored on a 56-yard touchdown run to lead the host Warriors (2-0-1) over Santa Paula (1-2).
Running back Benji Trembly led the Warriors with 160 yards in 22 carries.
Ngo, who completed only two of five passes for four yards, scored from one yard in the first quarter to start the scoring. Kuttler gave Carpinteria a 13-0 lead with his scoring run in the closing minute of the first quarter.
Ngo added a 59-yard scoring run with 9:52 to play before Santa Paula quarterback Brian Whittaker avoided the shutout by sprinting into the end zone from three yards with 3:45 remaining.
