Luis Polonia was suspended for three games and Seattle Mariner pitcher Eric Gunderson for four games for their Sept. 15 fight at Seattle.
Polonia hit Gunderson on the head with his bat after Gunderson had thrown at him. Polonia said it was in retaliation for Gunderson’s having hit Gary DiSarcina with a pitch earlier in the game and then throwing behind Polonia’s head. Polonia began the suspension Wednesday.
