Car Accidents Blamed on Dense Fog

Patches of dense fog on the Oxnard Plain were blamed for several car crashes Wednesday morning near Camarillo, authorities said.
Four vehicles were involved in accidents on a stretch of 5th Street, with one crash reported near Pleasant Valley Road and another at Las Posas Road, a CHP spokeswoman said.
All injuries were minor, she said.
A meteorologist with Weather Data Inc., a private forecasting service, said coastal areas of Ventura County will have night and morning low clouds for the next few days, with some areas of dense fog.
Forecaster Rick Dittmann said offshore breezes from a high-pressure system over the interior were not strong enough to make it to the coast as expected.
The result was daytime temperatures in the 90s in the interior, but highs that remained in the 60s and low 70s along the coast.
Similar temperatures were expected today, Dittmann said.
