Harry Gant, defending champion of the NASCAR Busch Grand National Series portion of the Winston Classic tripleheader, qualified for today’s 200-lap event at Martinsville, Va. Speedway.
When George Crenshaw of Lakeland, Fla., crashed, Gant, who had qualified 21st, rose to 20th and avoided a qualifying race.
Today’s tripleheader also includes a 200-lap Winston Modified Tour race and a 100-lap Late Model Stock Car event.
