Southern Miss Gets Win Over East Carolina

GREENVILLE, N.C. — Michael Welch rushed for 169 yards and a touchdown on 27 carries as Southern Mississippi upstaged East Carolina’s high-powered offense in a 38-21 victory Thursday night.
The Pirates (4-4) ranked third nationally in passing and seventh in total offense.
