SOUTHERN SECTION WATER POLO ROUNDUP : Nance, Thacher Lead Trabuco Hills

K.C. Nance had four goals and four assists and Ryan Thacher scored four goals to help Trabuco Hills defeat Brea-Olinda, 15-7, in a first-round Southern Section Division III playoff match Thursday at Trabuco Hills.
Goalie Dan Will had 15 saves for Trabuco Hills (17-10), which advanced to play South Pasadena, a 22-16 winner over Fontana, in the second round Saturday. Nance raised his assist total to 55, setting a school single-season record. Thacher scored his 117th goal, also a school single-season record.
In other Division III water polo:
Costa Mesa 24, Charter Oak 7--J.R. Porter and Sam Grayeli each had seven goals for top-seeded Costa Mesa (20-8), which led, 14-1, at the half. Costa Mesa will play Indio, a 22-4 winner over Chino Don Lugo, Saturday.
Valencia 9, Hemet 6--Joe Ma had four goals for host Valencia (16-5), which took a 6-2 lead at the half and held on. Valencia advances to play Santa Ynez, a 12-9 winner over Buena, Saturday.
Magnolia 15, La Canada 6--Mustafa Hassan scored five goals and Jeremy Workman had four to lead host Magnolia (22-5) past La Canada (14-12). Magnolia will play Cabrillo, an 11-6 winner over San Marcos, Saturday.
