PRO FOOTBALL DAILY REPORT : RAMS : Streaky Everett Never Got Going
- Share via
Jim Everett put together pass completion streaks of 12 in a row at San Francisco, 11 against the New York Giants, 14 against Atlanta and 13 against Phoenix.
Sunday against the 49ers at Anaheim Stadium, however, the Rams never really got their passing game rolling and Everett never completed more than two passes in a row. He finished with 13 completions in 29 attempts for 158 yards, the Rams’ third-lowest passing yardage total of the season.
Coach Chuck Knox said the downfall of the passing game was a combination of things.
“We had some places to go with the football at times,” Knox said, “but we didn’t have the protection we wanted at times and we had a couple of drops and that all ties together.
“When you’re playing a very, very talented team, you’ve got to have everything going. You’ve got to make the plays.”
