WORKINGS OF THE LAW

Thanks to Barry Siegel for bringing to our attention the experiences of John Sam and Mary Kenney (“A Question of Conviction,” Nov. 1). How heartening it is to hear that heroes still exist.
The courage necessary to take “action based on what we believe” is something most of us lack. Whatever was sacrificed when Sam and Kenney sided with the truth is small compared to what would have been lost if they hadn’t.
