MEN’S BASKETBALL
The final edition of the Texaco Star Classic will begin tonight when San Diego State hosts North Florida in Peterson Gym at 6:05 p.m. Azusa Pacific faces Washington State in the second game at 8:35.
Unlike in past years, the pairings for this season’s tournament already are set. SDSU plays Washington State Saturday at 8:35, preceded by the North Florida and Azusa Pacific game at 6:05.
The pairings were predetermined so that neither Washington State nor SDSU would be playing two non-Division I teams. North Florida is an NCAA Division II team and Azusa Pacific belongs to the NAIA.
