L.A. Festival Seeking Artists for ’93 Event
- Share via
The Los Angeles Festival is seeking out Los Angeles-based artists who want to take part in the 1993 event, which will celebrate African, African-American and Middle Eastern cultures. About 45 individual artists or groups will be selected for a project titled “Crossing L.A.,” and will receive financial support. Works submitted for consideration should address the festival’s 1993 theme, “Home, Place and Memory,” and are not limited to the cultures on which the festival will focus.
Festival publicist Cynthia McClain-Hill said “Crossing L.A.” is not meant to replace the Open Festival, an adjunct event that is held in conjunction with the L.A. Festival.
Artists may obtain an application by calling the festival office, (213) 689-8800; application deadline is Jan. 15.
