Jim Jackson Allegedly Threatens Youths

A complaint filed Saturday with police in Columbus, Ohio, alleges that Jim Jackson, an NBA first-round draft choice and former Ohio State star, brandished a gun at four teen-agers last week.

Randall Moore, an administrative sergeant in the patrol unit of the Police Division, said the complaint alleged that Jackson “displayed the gun, but didn’t point it” at the youths Wednesday night.

WCMH-TV reported that the complaint alleged that Jackson brandished a gun in front of Gene Sidney, 19; his sister, Adrian, 13; Angie Jones, 13; and Robert Dover, whose age wasn’t listed.

Robin Stith, an attorney representing the youths, told WCMH-TV that the teen-agers were in a car when Jackson drove alongside in a black Jeep and began shouting obscenities. When the two vehicles stopped at a traffic light, Jackson pulled a gun and threatened the youths, WCMH said. Stith told the television station that she plans to take the complaint to the city prosecutor’s office Monday.

Jackson has refused to sign with the Dallas Mavericks, who selected him in the first round last summer.

His agent, Mark Termini, said that the allegations were unfounded.

“I can tell you there’s no proof to the allegations. It appears as though someone is trying to set Jim up because of who he is,” Termini said.
