12 Tajiks Killed, 14 Hurt in Blast on Afghan Border

MOSCOW — Twelve Tajik refugees were killed and 14 wounded in an explosion on the former Soviet republic’s border with Afghanistan, the Russian Information Agency said Friday.
The news agency said the blast rocked a small island in the Panj River on Wednesday and probably resulted from careless handling of explosives.
