Hawaii made 18 of its 22 second-half free throws to hold off Cal State Long Beach, 69-67, Friday night in a Big West Conference game at Long Beach.
Long Beach (3-7 overall, 2-1 conference) trailed, 59-46, with 5:18 to play when reserve Lucy Villanueva helped spark the comeback. Marsheela Harrison had 16 points for the 49ers, who only made two of four second-half free throws. Jennifer Hurt had 18 points for Hawaii (9-2, 3-0).
