COLLEGE ROUNDUP : Keenan, Richmond, Davidio Pace UC Irvine Swimmers

Patrick Keenan, Donny Richmond, and Greg Davidio each won two events as UC Irvine beat Cal State Northridge, 132-96, in a nonconference men’s swimming meet Saturday at UC Irvine.
Keenan won the 1,000 freestyle in 9 minutes 49.08 seconds and the 200 butterfly in 1:57.05. Richmond won the 200 freestyle (1:46.44) and 100 freestyle (47.99).
Davidio won the three-meter diving with 246.55 points and the one-meter diving with 238.70.
In nonconference women’s diving:
UC Irvine splits--The UC Irvine team beat University of San Diego, 65-39, but lost to Cal State Northridge, 66-47. Laurel Hooper won the 1,000 freestyle in 10:40.20, Grace Moon won the 200 breaststroke 2:30.81 and Kelly Root won the one-meter diving with 230.15 points for UC Irvine.
In Big West Conference women’s basketball:
Hawaii 78, UC Irvine 45--Valerie Agee had 19 points for host Hawaii. Yvonne Catala had 10 points for UC Irvine (1-13, 0-6).
In Golden State Athletic Conference women’s basketball:
Christ College Irvine 66, Cal Baptist 56--Gitte Mejer had 25 points to lead Christ College Irvine (16-4, 4-0). Stacy Kirch added 11 points for Irvine.
In men’s nonconference tennis:
Southern California College 9, Cal Tech 0--Aaron Webster won at No. 1 singles, 6-0, 6-1, then teamed with Robby Carlton to win, 6-1, 6-1, at No. 1 doubles for Southern California College (2-) at the Costa Mesa Tennis Center.
