The Compton Police Dept. has taken no action regarding an apparent warning gunshot fired by a security officer during a boys’ basketball game between Lynwood and Compton Dominguez high schools Friday night at Dominguez, according to Lt. Alfred Smith.
“There doesn’t appear to be anything significant enough that happened for us to make a report at this time,” Smith said.
Smith said no injuries or arrests were reported.
According to Bill Lee, Lynwood’s coach, the game was called with 4:50 remaining when a fight broke out in the Dominguez bleachers during a timeout. When security officers tried to break up the fight, one fired a gun toward the gymnasium ceiling, Lee said.
