A Lake Los Angeles man on parole for narcotics violations has been arrested in a dozen Lancaster robberies that have occurred over the past month, Los Angeles County sheriff’s deputies said Friday.
John Blevins, 25, was arrested at his home in the 40500 block of 163rd Street East on Thursday. He was being held at the Antelope Valley Sheriff’s Station in lieu of $20,000 bail on suspicion of robbery and parole violations. Arraignment is scheduled for Monday.
Deputies said a man would ask cashiers of markets, liquor stores and fast-food restaurants for change. After the cash registers were open, they said, the robber would either hit or shove the cashiers away from the registers, grab the money and run.
The robberies occurred between Jan. 9 and Feb. 3. About $3,000 was taken.
