Sharon Stone

I found it ironic that we were being inundated with Oscar rhetoric about honoring women in film. There were speeches, film clips, even an overblown number supposedly proving how far we women have come in Hollywood.
I kept my TV tuned to ABC and witnessed Sharon Stone concerning her infamous scene in a revealing skirt sans underwear. When she explained how the director had deceived her to get that shot, I was outraged. Stone was sexually assaulted with a camera. When the film is shown, she is violated again.
Even if Stone had consented--is this a “liberated” view of women? I sincerely hope that others who might have considered patronizing “Basic Instinct” will reconsider.
